Job Description:
Goucher College invites applications for the position of full-time maintenance mechanic. This is customer service oriented position in the Facilities Management Department. Primary responsibilities include general maintenance, minor construction, and renovation projects. Additional responsibilities include: repairs to roof and gutter systems, window and door hardware, and lock mechanisms; replacing floor and ceiling tiles, patching and painting sheetrock and plaster walls; fabricating cabinet, bookcase, and shelving units; working with concrete, mortar, brick, and block; and providing building preventive maintenance. Proven carpentry, basic electrical, and basic plumbing skills are required. Position does require some on-call hours each month and is considered emergency essential.
Requirements:
Requirements include a high school degree or equivalency, at least two years driving experience on a state-issued license, a minimum of five years working experience in the building maintenance field, and proven expertise in the areas listed above. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.
