Job Description:
Goucher College has an immediate opening for a full-time custodian. This is a highly customer service oriented position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: cleaning offices, classrooms, and public areas; cleaning restrooms and replenishing supplies; cleaning floors including operating buffers and carpet extractors; collecting and carrying out trash; sweeping and/or shoveling snow from steps and/or sidewalks at entrances to buildings and spreading snow salt as needed; and performing any additional job assignments as they relate to campus facilities.
While this position has primary custodial responsibilities, the successful candidate will also assist the Sanitation Operator as needed. Responsibilities include removal of all solid waste and recycling materials from campus buildings to appropriate locations on campus for removal by refuse company; and work on exteriors of campus buildings in all weather conditions.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must be able to operate a stake body truck and hydraulic compactor and be available for overtime work as needed. One year custodial experience and at least two years of driving experience on a state-issued license are required. Experience maintaining terrazzo, carpet, and wood floors is preferred.
Additional Information:
Finalists will be subject to a driving test as part of the interview process. The successful completion of a background check is required as a condition of employment.
